Meet Deidre Luker

Deidre Luker has been a life-long resident of Pope County, Arkansas. She graduated from Dover High School and went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. Deidre obtained her Juris Doctorate from William H. Bowen School of Law in Little Rock, Arkansas, and immediately returned to Pope County to practice law post-graduation. She has been practicing law for 14 years in Pope County, and during that time, she has operated a private practice in addition to serving as Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, City Attorney, County Attorney, and Attorney Ad Litem. In 2018, Deidre was appointed by former Governor Asa Hutchinson to fill the position of District Court Judge in the Southern District of Yell County.

Deidre Luker is a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in the 5th Judicial District, where her caseload focuses on juvenile delinquency cases in Pope County and civil forfeitures across the district. For the past 12 years, Deidre has also served as an Attorney Ad Litem representing children in foster care in Johnson County. She also currently serves as the County Civil Attorney for Pope County, Arkansas; city attorney for the cities of Dover, Pottsville, and London in Pope County; and city attorney for the cities of Clarksville and Lamar in Johnson County. Deidre’s caseload for each of the cities she represents includes prosecuting cases in district court on behalf of each city.

Deidre also serves as 2nd Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Dover Public Education Foundation, which is a charitable organization that provides funding to supplement various programs and activities in the Dover School District in order to enhance the educational experience for students and teachers.

Deidre is married to Jason Luker, an operator at Arkansas Nuclear One in Russellville. Jason is a graduate of Dover High School and attended Arkansas Tech University. 

In her spare time, Deidre enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, Hercules and Foxy, traveling and running. 

I’ve had the pleasure of working as a prosecuting attorney in Pope County District Court for 12 years. That experience allows me to know the needs of our district court system and the participants that come before it. I’m committed to being firm while also restoring fairness, integrity and compassion from the bench for the people.
